Every drop of Deer Park® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water comes from carefully selected spring sources and is captured at the source.
Filtered Naturally By The Earth
There are over three hundred fifty-eight million trillion gallons of water on Earth. But not all water is created equal. Deer Park® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water comes only from carefully selected springs that are continually replenished. What starts out as rain and snow, soaks into the ground and is filtered naturally by the earth with a distinct composition of minerals to create our crisp, refreshing taste.
10 Step Quality & Safety Process
Once our natural spring water is collected at the source, it undergoes stringent controls to ensure that by the time it gets to you, each drop has been screened for 30x more contaminants than the leading pitcher filter removes. Our testing standards meet or exceed those set by the EPA and FDA—so you can be confident in the pure quality of Deer Park® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water.
Every time you drink Deer Park® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water, it tastes just like it did when we found it because we seal every crisp, refreshing drop in specially designed bottles that are recyclable, regularly tested for safety, and free of BPA* (bisphenol-A).

Selecting a spring requires a lengthy process of research and analysis. We only select sources that analysis shows can be used and managed for long-term sustainability, which means we study the springs and the areas around them to help ensure that each detail – from the geological makeup to the site history and weather patterns – is just right.
Procuring the Water
Because it takes special circumstances to create Deer Park® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water, we continually analyze our springs to help ensure the health of the surrounding ecosystem. That way, people will be able to enjoy Deer Park for generations to come. For an in-depth look at nature’s unique process, watch our Water Cycle Video.
Preserving Our Springs
Our sources mean everything to us, so we go to great lengths to help ensure nothing upsets their natural balance. Continually renewed by rainfall, snowmelt and groundwater moving through the earth, our springs are carefully monitored so that we don't take more than nature provides. Plus, we monitor plant and aquatic life in the area to help ensure the ecology remains stable.
The Origins of Deer Park Water
Deer Park® Brand has a rich history. Following the Civil War, the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad created the Deer Park Hotel, a vacation resort in the Appalachian Mountains of western Maryland. Though the resort and spa were originally created to attract railroad passengers, the spring water near the site also became a major attraction.
When the B&O Railroad recognized the value of the spring as a source for clean, refreshing drinking water for its passengers, it began bottling water from this spring in 1873.
All natural springs are the result of a unique geological process. In the case of Deer Park spring, water bubbles up through white sand on its way to the surface, which is why it's been dubbed by locals, the “Boiling Spring.”
In 1966 the Boiling Spring Holding Corporation purchased the spring and its surrounding woodlands from the B&O. This company bottled the spring water primarily for the metropolitan New York market, and formed the basis for the company, which was incorporated as Deer Park Spring Water, Inc. Over the years, notable figures such as U.S. Presidents came to drink the water, including President William Taft, who spent his honeymoon at the Deer Park Hotel. Then and now, most of Deer Park® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water is sourced near and around the Appalachian Trail areas.
